This ensures that the mass of the foods will not affect the overall calculation of energy, because all masses of the foods will be equal. However, I do not see the real world aspect to this, as it is simply calculating the energy level of foods. Perhaps including background information about the subject will be better. Also, maybe you could have researched the amount of energy that we need each day to see if we get enough energy from the foods supplied in our cafeteria?
I thought that the organization of the lab was alright. However, I think you’re not thoughtful about the experiments since your group didn’t provide any background information. Also, your experiment is unclear because you didn’t provide the amount of each food you are testing on. You did in your procedure, but you should also put a table so the readers can easily compare the original and the after burned. Furthermore, you should provide more photos!! It would be a lot easier for the readers to imagine what you guys are doing. :)
For experiment 2, I thought it was very smart of you guys to regulate the mass of the foods because the other group that did a similar experiment didn't and resulted in data that might have produced inaccurate results. One thing that could be improved in the writeup is by providing background information on the law of conservation of energy and elastic and inelastic collisions.
