Also, because the classrooms were locked, you were unable to test different classroom environments. However, I think that the rest of your procedure, including the number of data points collected, was an effective and useful way of conducting the experiment. I also liked how you found relevant background information to compare your values to. However, why were only three trials conducted? Wouldn\u2019t it have been more accurate to have five? Also, I thought that it might have been useful if the uncertainty of your data was quantified as well.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"43281242","dateCreated":"1317183735","smartDate":"Sep 27, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"purnad","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/purnad","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/tasibgroup4.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/43281242"},"dateDigested":1532126449,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Comment","description":"I think this is a very relevant experiment, especially in Taiwan where the temperature randomly fluctuates. I think for your write up you guys should have had a graph to summarize all the data. It helps to have a visual aid. For your methodology, did you guys give the temperature probe time to calibrate before taking the reading? At the end, the mention of how people's body heat changes the temperature around the school is a very relevant observation. I think using this experiment as a base, we can move on to look at another factor affecting human health such as CO2 concentration.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"43281240","dateCreated":"1317183733","smartDate":"Sep 27, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"purnad","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/purnad","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/tasibgroup4.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/43281240"},"dateDigested":1532126449,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Comment","description":"I think this is a very relevant experiment, especially in Taiwan where the temperature randomly fluctuates. Granted we would want a comfortable environment in which we're not being oven-baked or refrigerated, but it does become a nuisance when there is a considerable difference in temperature indoors and outdoors. Students and teachers walking to school will need to prepare for two climates in a day. I'm not saying that we should turn off the aircon entirely, but it would be nice if the temperature were adjusted to something that would not force us to bring coats or risk hypothermia every time we come to school.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"43269464","dateCreated":"1317170840","smartDate":"Sep 27, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"CherylK13105238","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/CherylK13105238","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/tasibgroup4.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/43269464"},"dateDigested":1532126449,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Comment","description":"This lab write up is very easy to comprehend and well organized. When I saw the data table saying if it's winter, then the temperature should be colder, and when it's summer, the temperature should be warmer, I was a bit confused. I guess it makes sense since the indoor temperature should be similar to the weather outside since we all dress according to the climate. It's interesting to see how much warmer the pool is compared to other parts of the school because it doesn't really seem that way.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"43141480","dateCreated":"1317000503","smartDate":"Sep 25, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"remmychen","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/remmychen","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/tasibgroup4.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/43141480"},"dateDigested":1532126449,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Comment","description":"I like how your experiment takes various temperatures and compares them with suitable temperatures in the best interest of students and teachers; it's pretty neat. I wonder if the fact that the group 4 project was done on a day during which only teachers come to school for PD day, because the air conditioning system might not be fully on, such as the ones in classrooms. This could potentially affect the accuracy of the data since the data might not present the temperatures as they are on school days. I think that for further investigation you could test temperatures in areas where students are more often at, for example the cafeteria, library, different classrooms, etc. Also something to consider is that the experiment was not carried out on a school day, so were all the air conditioners on? Other than this, I think you provided very good information on how the temperatures on each of the four floors may be too low.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":true},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
